We grow 500 acres of red and brown onions, producing around 8,500 tonnes annually.
'Allium Cepa' is a member of the Allium family which includes chives, garlic and leeks.
An onion is a very versatile ingredient used in cooking all over the globe.
It has many health benefits including anticholesterol and antioxidant properties.
Drilling takes place during early Spring, and harvesting is in September.
They are stored and sold from September through to the following July.
We currently grow the following varieties; Reds: Red Light, Red Tide and Red Baron. Browns: Hytech, Hybound and Hybing.
