'ALLIUM

CEPA'

We grow 500 acres of red and brown onions, producing around 8,500 tonnes annually.

 

​'Allium Cepa' is a member of the Allium family which includes chives, garlic and leeks.

 

An onion is a very versatile ingredient used in cooking all over the globe.

 

It has many health benefits including anticholesterol and antioxidant properties.​

 

Drilling takes place during early Spring, and harvesting is in September.

 

They are stored and sold from September through to the following July.​

 

We currently grow the following varieties; Reds: Red Light, Red Tide and Red Baron. Browns: Hytech, Hybound and Hybing.​
